ANDRÉAS LANG - Biography

born in Zweibrücken/Palatinat.1983-85 drummer in the „Nasse Hunde“ punk band.
1985-91 assistant to international photographers. 1991-01 works in Paris as a free-lance photographer. since 1995 he has devoted himself increasingly to his own non-commissioned works, including video, experimental and documentary films (trips to Iraq and to Northern India). Residency in Australia, first works on nature and landscapes, which from then on became central themes. From 1999 he worked on a long-term project about European landscapes. The years 2006 and 2007 saw the creation of the „Eclipse“ series in Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Syria and Turkey. This was followed in 2008/09 by further stays in Cairo and Damascus for new photographic and video work. 2011/12 work on a new project on (post-) colonialism in Africa.
